An Engineer, Pilot, and Professor. All things that described this displaced woman with mysterious origins. Adopted by a noble Hingan family, and sent to Sharlayan to learn magic and engineering, she had spent much of her younger years preparing herself for the real world. Now that she has bloomed and begun to travel the world what other mystery's will be revealed?

Natsumi is a mix of soft and caring, as well as pragmatic and studious in nature. Having spent most of her life in Sharlayan in her various studies of engineering, medicine, and cooking, she developed into a woman who looks at things with a generally educated mindset. If she doesn't know anything on the topic, she will stay quiet, learn what she can and adapt for the future. Despite this nature, deep down she is a loving and caring woman who wishes to take the benefits she had grown up with and turn them into something to help those who have been left behind by society. She just.. doesn't quite know how..
Background
The origins of Natsumis birth are a mystery to her at the moment. The only thing she is -certain- of was that her estranged adopted mother Uto Oshidari took her in as a baby, and raised her for the earliest of her years before funding her new life in Sharlayan. She spent -most- of her life within the nation of scholars, studying under various professors to learn medicine, cooking, and engineering. Earlier in her years, as she was finishing up her general studies to prepare for her focus on more advanced subjects, she took some time to work at the Last Stand, where she learned how to cook the -proper- way.. and taking on the mission of the Last Stand to try to prevent the collapse of Sharlayan cuisine.One aspect about her life though that was a struggle was her aether. She was rather frail in comparison to everyone else, barely able to use -any- aetheric abilities what so ever. If frequently lead her to struggling to really get along well with some people, and often drove her to want to -prove- herself in other ways. So she doubled down on her studies, dedicated most if not all of her free time to learning, practising and perfecting her various crafts. She did maintain a bit of a social life, but she had always been more of a recluse, keeping only a small group of friends including her retainer Sakura who came with her at Uto's request.Later in her life, after graduating and still trying to figure out what she was going to do with her life, something mysterious happened to her. She got a surge of aether, so much so that she became far more aetherically dense than she ever was. Things that used to be a struggle for her now suddenly became trivial, and her Sage magic's became much easier to control and project. As she was attempting to discover -why- this was the case she ran into the love of her life Aisleita.Aisleita, she learned very quickly, was her soulmate. She was wild, chaotic and attuned with nature. She brought out all of the thoughts that she had long thought would never see the light of day, gave Natsumi someone to love, someone to share her life with.

Sharlayan Graduate/Professor: Natsumi is a relatively well known graduate of the Sharlayan engineering program. Those who studied or work in the Studium may be well aware of her. A few notable examples of her history in the Studium include the many times her gadgets, namely her little robots, would roam a bit too free for peoples' tastes. Her final project which earned her degree was a notable item that is still used to this day, a high powered aetheric relay that amplifies traditional link-pearl signals to send digital signals over long distances. She has also very recently taken the job as a professor, though instead of teaching in a traditional classroom, she teaches on the field.
Pilot: In her free time Natsumi is known to pilot any kind of airship or magitek flight unit she can get her hands on. She has taken many trips across the various seas of the world via a variety of airships. She also frequently will offer her services as a pilot to anyone in need.
Accursed Odyssey: Natsumi has started her own Free Company in La Noscea with her partner Aislieta. They are seeking to make a home for those who do not fit in with the rest of the world. (More info later)
Secrets
The First: It is not aware to Natsumi at this moment, nor her parter.. however she was originally born in the first. Her birth parents begged their Goddess upon the floods approach to save their child, and this deity dragged Natsumi across the barrier between shards.. where she was left in the Source near Hingashi with nothing but a enchanted feather over her infant form...
Denser Aether: Coming from the first, and existing on the source caused a rather bizarre coincidence where Natsumi existed on the planet while the woman whom she was a reflection of still resided. When this woman died.. instead of her soul moving on to the lifestream.. it instead merged into Natsumis. Those who are capable of seeing Aetheric density 12.5% higher than normal people. Sharlayan Secrets: Natsumi, while not part of the Ragnarök project, is well aware of its existence, and now that it has done is duty, she has access to the ship as well as Ultima Thule.
Looking For
ADVENTURE: Natsumi is very eager to see the world, and even more so is eager to learn anything she could not learn in the Studium. She is capable of leading her own expeditions, but will gladly follow if she is wanted. She is not a mercenary for hire, she will only take on jobs that are intended to help or explore the world.
Casual/Slice of Life: While much of what Natsumi is capable of would be more akin to a life of adventure or academia, she has a much softer side about her. She adores her plushes, enjoys spending time with her girlfriend, and in general likes to just meet new people and generally be a good friend to those who deserve her attention.
Machine Work/Piloting: Natsumi is often available to help anyone in need with nearly any kind of machine they have, be it repairs, design or just to show her something new that she would be vested in. This includes Airships.. she -adores- anything that flies and is even currently developing a special device made for airships.
Teaching: Natsumi -is- an engineering professor, anyone who is willing to learn in a much less classroom and more field and hands on environment is welcome to come and study under her.
Not Interested In
Romance: Natsumi is -very- happy with her partner, and the only way anyone is ever getting into any kind of romantic relationship with her, is if it is also with Aisleita
Bigotry/Racism: I'm Trans.. it should be self explanatory that I do not accept any level of bigotry. Both in character and out of character. In character has some slight leeway if given good reasons and isn't the entire identity of the character.

Hellooo!! I go by Sumi most of the time (Hah yes, I know the joke Natsumi...Not-Sumi) so if you want to short-hand for me in OOC chatter that works perfectly. I'm a 35 year old trans girl nerd just going about her life. I spend most of my time with my GF Ais playing FF 14 though I do sometimes play some other games, mostly Factorio or Mechwarrior games.I am -much- easier to reach either in game on Mateus or on discord. Maker's Respite
Natsumi hosts a small workshop and design lab within the basement of her Free Company's Mist home. Resting below her lover's Twisted Hare Tavern and Full Moon Library, it is a place for all of those who would create, build, and forge new things for the world! While the place does have priority for those who are officially apart of the Accursed Odyssey, Natsumi will frequently open the area up to the public, while offering her services.

Natsumi herself can offer her own engineering services to those who do not have the ability to themselves, as well as -some- simple forging if necessary however she is not a forge-master by any stretch so do not expect legendary swords and shields.
Natsumi offers herself as a professor / instructor for those wanting to learn more about Magitek from all sorts of fields, Allagan, Sharalyan, Gralean, and even Lunar technology.
